Ardrossan Scout Group is an educational charity, registered with OSCR (Scottish Charity Regulator) SC011044

We are an autonomous organisation owning our own property and equipment and admitting young people to membership of the Scout Group subject to the policy and rules of The Scout Association.

The Group is led by a Group Scout Leader and managed by a Trustee Board.  The Board is accountable to the parents and interested parties who support the Group.  The Group AGM (Annual General Meeting) is held within 6 months of the end of the Group Financial Year (31st Aug).

The Constitution of the Group is taken from the current version of POR (Policy Organisation and Rules) of the Scout Association with local resolutions on meeting quorums added.

The Group Scout Council is the electoral body for the Scout Group. It consists of all the adult Members of the Group, as well as the children’s parents/carers, plus some nominated members and a few ex-officio members.  the GSC will normally only ever convene for General Meetings, usually once a year.
